Calm Before the Storm
This snowy picture was taken about a week before Christmas. Brian and I were scheduled to drive home to Texas a few days after this snowstorm hit. Fortunately, the roads were cleared and we had a wonderful visit with family and friends over Christmas and the New Year. Today it is supposed to snow between a foot and two feet. The snow was supposed to start between 10 and noon. Around 10, I looked outside and saw a light sprinkling of snow. It has now stopped, and has left me wondering when/if we'll get the predicted snow. We are prepared with groceries just in case. Last night at the store, there was a line all the way back winding through the entire store and the shelves were getting bare. It's interesting to see what people stock up on the most: bread, milk, water, frozen food. It's also easy to tell what brands people like the least, as those are the ones still sitting on the shelves. Someone at the store said that it probably wouldn't snow very much; he'd believe it when he saw it, and he'd lived here for a long time, so he knew. He had a small handheld basket with only a few items. Okay, so depending on the weather, we may have all stocked up for nothing. But what if we hadn't prepared? Shouldn't we be prepared in life? Yes, we trust that God will provide for us. He will. But I believe that we should listen to Wisdom and prepare when we are warned. Not just physically, but spiritually. Are you prepared?
