Whiteout!

The snow came as promised from Friday afternoon through Saturday evening. The photo above is a pile of snow from the parking lot, where cars are usually parked in front of our building. I hope that the person I mentioned in my previous blog post had enough supplies despite his insistance that "he's lived here forever and will believe it when he sees it." Remember how I said to be prepared? Fortunately, we were prepared for the snow, but we weren't anticipating the ripple effect it would have. We unearthed (un-snowed, rather) my husband's SUV to discover that a once minor ding in the windshield had expanded to a full on linear crack. Brian's getting that fixed today, and everything should be okay. Unfortunately, there are some that we have discovered are having a much more difficult time. A friend of ours from church asked us to pray for a couple who have lost their jobs due to the collapse of a roof over a local business. Others have been impacted by loosing their power and having to try their best to stay warm. Still others may have experienced car problems or damage on their property. We're expecting another couple of inches between Tuesday and Wednesday. This is a good time for us to be thankful for our blessings from this past storm, pray for others who have experienced difficulties due to the storm, and pray for safety in the upcoming storm. Won't you join me?
